MABABA SQUAD burst into the Kenyan Music scene as artistes in 2010, taking the airwaves by storm with our first single, “FEELANGA FREE” The song is generally a love song fused with a kwaito beat plus an African rap on it!
The band began its musical journey way back in 2005 spreading its wings into production and amazing stage acts.
The Group has performed alongside great Kenyan musicians in several festivals and uncountable concerts. Mababa Squad has curtain raised for ‘PROFFESOR JAY’ from Tanzania in the year 2010 at the Rock city Gardens.
Curtain raised for the most respected afro-fusion bands both in Kenya and Internationally ‘YUNASI’ during their Album launch and again alongside JUA CALI and ADMIRAL T from France at the Alliance francaise’ festival at the Uhuru park grounds.
Have also performed alongside ‘PILIPILI’ at the Annual Slum Festival in huruma Mathare slums in the year 2008, Performed at the Maboom Boom festival, Sawa Sawa Festival, Curtain raised for MADTRAXX in march this year at the Asmara lounge and many more!
The band is currently working crazy hours at Nairobi’s newest state-of-the-art recording studio – THE MTU KAWAIDA ENTERTAINMENT.
